Covenant Dream Center
Day program
What is the Covenant Dream Center
Day Program?
The Covenant Dream Center Day Program is a structured day program that provides adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) a safe, supportive, and engaging place to spend their day. Participants take part in meaningful activities, build skills, and connect with peers, all in an environment designed around their goals and interests.
The program is built to empower each individual to thrive through purposeful activity, community involvement, and personal growth. Days are structured yet flexible, balancing skill-building, social connection, and enjoyment, so participants gain confidence and independence while experiencing a real sense of belonging.
For families, the Dream Center also provides something practical: dependable daytime support in a trusted setting, giving caregivers peace of mind during working hours and beyond.
What is day habilitation?
Day habilitation is a structured day program that helps adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) build daily living skills, connect with others, and take part in their community, all in a supportive setting. At the Covenant Dream Center, day habilitation focuses on practical skill-building, stronger relationships, and active community engagement.
Each day is designed to help participants learn, grow, and contribute. Support is individualized, so activities match each person's abilities and goals, and skills are practiced in real settings rather than taught in isolation. The environment is welcoming by design: a place where every participant has the chance to build confidence, gain independence, and feel genuinely valued.
Where is the Covenant Dream Center Day Program located?
The Covenant Dream Center Day Program operates two locations in North Carolina: Albemarle and Matthews. Both serve families searching for adult day programs and day habilitation near them, and both offer the same welcoming, inclusive environment where participants learn, build skills, and connect.
Families are encouraged to visit in person. A tour is the best way to see the space, meet the team, and understand how the program supports each participant day to day. To schedule a visit at either location, contact the Covenant Dream Center.
How It Works
Our process is designed so every individual receives the care and attention they deserve.
Step
Referral & Intake
Enrollment begins with a referral from a care coordinator, parent, or guardian. This helps us understand each person’s unique needs, goals, and support requirements before joining the program.
Step
Individualized Program Plan
After intake, a personalized plan is developed to focus on the participant’s strengths, interests, and areas for growth. This plan may include social skill development, life skills training, creative activities, and community-based experiences.
Step
Community Integration and Daily Activities
Participants enjoy a variety of on-site and community activities, such as social events, field trips, volunteer opportunities, and recreational outings. These experiences encourage independence, build friendships, and help participants feel connected to their community.
Step
Ongoing Support and Progress Monitoring
Our dedicated staff works closely with participants and families to ensure ongoing progress. Plans are reviewed regularly and adjusted as needed to reflect each individual’s evolving goals and achievements.
